Oxford University Press (OUP) is ODO’s publisher and they publish many reference books on many subjects (classics, biography, history, religion, etc.). This ODO English word dictionary offers two English versions, U.K. This English word dictionary, only comes in the online electronic version and should not to be confused with the OED’s electronic version. The other animal (or two animals) is the English word dictionary of the Oxford Dictionaries Online (ODO) with homepage. And other times the American version may not be listed at all (see examples below). spelling may sometimes be found in the list of alternate forms. If not included in the head words, the U.S. spelling side by side and to the right of the British spelling in the head words. And, in my experience this one version favors British English, but often includes U.S. There is only one version of the online OED – there are not American English and British English versions. Don’t hold your breath, though, it’s now 20 years behind schedule. The electronic version of the OED, which is offered by libraries and through individual subscriptions, is undergoing continuous revision and when the overhaul is complete it will be called the OED3.

There will be no revised 2nd edition of the hard copy and their second edition marks the end of the paper version. The hoary old Oxford English Dictionary comes in two different forms, the hard copy and the electronic version.

For anyone still confused by the proliferation of Oxford Dictionaries, I offer the following:
